After an extensive search for an estate planning attorney, my wife and I selected Matthew O’Donnell back in 1999, when our daughter was two years old.  We knew we needed to go through the process of establishing our estate plans including wills, medical directives, powers of attorney, and a living trust.  We found Matt to be knowledgeable, thorough, patient, and dedicated to helping us set in place proper planning instruments consistent with our wishes.

Matt often says that estate planning is a process, not an event.  He practices this philosophy by keeping his clients abreast of changes in the tax and estate laws, and by encouraging periodic consultations to discuss life changes that may necessitate revisions to the original plans.  It is important to have access to professional advice when needed, and Matt’s Trust Protector Program is very helpful in this regard.  For a very reasonable annual fee, this program provides periodic seminars with guest speakers, document review and revisions, and consultation benefits.

Over the years, we have worked with Matt to establish and keep our estate plans up-to-date.  Matt is extremely professional and caring, and we feel very confident that our estate plans meet our needs.

We definitely would recommend Matthew O’Donnell and Associates to anyone seeking estate planning services.

In my capacity as an eldercare consultant, I have been fortunate to hear Matt present on legal issues of aging and other related topics.  His breath of knowledge and clarity are impressive.  Without exception, there was deep appreciation and genuine gratitude for his guidance in planning for the future of elderly family members.  Feedback from his clients is positive and reflects a high degree of satisfaction.

I have known Matthew O’Donnell for more than twenty years, both as colleague and as his client.         His integrity, attention to detail, patience and willingness to educate his clients are all an integral part of the services offered by Matthew O’Donnell and Associates.

Our original living trust was set up in 1994 by an out-of-town law firm.  Years have gone by, our family has grown, and our situations have changed.  We realized the original living trust was no longer reflecting our true needs and desires.  We wanted to have our living trust updated.

We approached a couple of law firms well known in the living trust/estate planning business in San Francisco.  To our surprise, both of them refused to take our case because modifying an existing living trust is more time consuming than drafting a new one.  They rather take on some simple, cookie cutter type of cases for a quick profit than spending hours to review our original living trust.

We were very fortunate to have come across Matthew O’Donnell & Associates.  They accepted our case and provided a restatement of our original living trust in a timely manner and incorporated all of our current needs and desires.  They put their clients’ interest ahead of their own.
